This kind of restaurant, to tell the truth, is rare and thus finding one is like finding a jewel in Paris culinary world.
The restaurant is also tiny, affirming the notion that all good things come in a little package. There are barely 6 tables in a room which can holds for about 20 people. There is also no waiting room so the waiting list people, and there will always be waiting list, should just find another place to hang out before a place is available for them. Usually, the waiter will recommend a wine house across the street. And since it is such a small casual oyster bar, the waiter will just cross the street to call them up when a place is available. Do not be discouraged when you do not get a spot right away because oysters in Huitrerie Regis are definitely worth every second of your wait. However, if you do not have much time to spare, their oysters are always ready for a take out order.

The oysters in Huitrerie Regis comes from the famous claires of the the Marenne-Oléron. There is where they can get the white, pleasant, and clean fresh raw oysters. As you can expect, there are a vast collection of wine available to accompany the main course which consists of numerous variety of oyster meals. Muscadet, Chablis, Sancerre, and Pouilly-Fumé are among of wines you can choose to enhance your oyster dining experience in Huitrerie Regis. In the meantime, you can always complement you main course with seaweed, ices, dark bread, and mignonette sauce. Do not forget that they also serve shrimp, probably for redemption for people who are dragged there by friends or relatives. Or maybe it is meant to be some inter course menu between oyster meals.

There are usually two or three sizes available for each oyster variety. The price may be considered a little expensive at 30€ for each dozen of oyster or about $3.5 for each oyster, but we all agree that the price is worth every penny. There is one coppery, large and flat oyster variety and three other which are labeled fines de claires, spéciales de claires and pousse en claires. The least expensive one is fines de claires which is at €10 for each dozen.

Although the prices are quite high, as the consequence for having a good-quality and specialized restaurant, Huitrerie Regis is always packed with satisfied customers. So, do not miss this restaurant whenever you visit Paris.
