Opera Garnier
As one of the centers of Europe civilization, Paris is full with cultural performances. One of the places where you can see Paris’ best art performances is Opera Garnier. Built in 1875, the opera building is the thirteenth building to house the famous Paris Opera since its opening.

Also known as Palais Garnier, the building was named after the architect who designed it, Charles Garnier. It took 13 years to finish the construction due to 1870 war and an underground lake found under the construction. The underground lake then featured in the famous play by Paul Leroux, Phantom of the Opera.

Sainte Chapelle
Sainte Chapelle is not your ordinary Roman Catholic chapel. Built based on King Louis IX’s order, the chapel was intended to house Christian relic collections including the Crown of Thorns and the Image of Edessa. Sainte Chapelle was designed by Pierre de Montreuil and dubbed as the highest pinnacle of Rayonnant period due to its faithfulness to Gothic architecture and amazing decorations.

Sainte Chapelle was listed as a historical national monument in 1862. Today, there is only two thirds of the original construction authentic, but you can still enjoy the exhibition of the Christian relic collections. Read More …
Place de La Concorde
Place de la Concorde is a place with a rich history. Built surrounding the magnificent statue of King Louis XV which was built by Edmé Bouchardon to celebrate the King’s recovery over a serious illness, the square became a historical place which witnessed the bloody execution during French Revolution and its reconciliation after the turmoil.

Marie Antoinette, Louis XVI, Madame du Barry, and Robbespierre were among those who were beheaded with the guillotine installed at the center of the square during a time called “Reign of Terror.”

Seine River, Paris

Palais de Chaillot
Also known as Trocadero, Palais de Chaillot was built for the 1878 World Expo and renovated in 1937 for the more recent World Expo. Located on the top of Chaillot Hill and orming an excellent view from the Eiffel Tower, Palais de Chaillot houses several interesting museums to visit.
