Yam’Tcha Restaurant, Paris

Yam’Tcha Restaurant, Paris Has been working with great names in culinary world like Yanick Alleno and Pascal Barbot, Adeline Grattard is the world-acclaimed chef who opens this Yam’Tcha restaurant, a restaurant with one of the most sought-out reservations in Paris. There is no wonder why it is quite hard to get a reservation in chef Grattard restaurant since she is a high-acclaimed chef who has been working for a three Michelin-starred restaurant like L’Astrance. Grattard, as any other chef prodigy, decided to start her own path in Paris restaurant business by opening Yam’Tcha. Of course, the fact that there are not many seats available in Yam’Tcha contributes to it waiting list, but we can be assured that the main reason is because all these people are excited to try how Grattard’s foods taste like.
Located just a short walk from the Louvre, one thing that sets this restaurant apart from other fine dining restaurants in the city is its uniquely French-Chinese fusion signature (which is reflected in the restaurant’s name). You can even find a tea pairing for each course in the replacement of wine. This, I guess, definitely has something to do with the times she spent in Hong Kong. Moreover, she is even married to a Chinese named Chi Wah Chan, which obviously adds some Chinese flavor in her foods. One of the Asian expertises she has learned very well in the east is how to work with wok and steam. Her foods also tend to be light and creative, the characteristics you can find in the Chinese meals. Menu in Yam’Tcha almost leaves out all its French accent except the cheese course and wine selection.
As the welcome drink, again, you will be greeted with the Asian flavor of Phoenix oolong tea. Do not turn it down if you happen to be not a tea person because what the restaurant offers in the beginning always makes sense with the food that you order. Tofu and papaya are the Asian accent that is regularly worked on. The cheese in Yam’Tcha is mild and creamy. Grattard bring the cheese especially from her hometown in Citeaux, Burgundy.

Overall, Yam’Tcha is a really good bargain for a very fine dinner in Paris. The price is still affordable, at 30 to 65€ for lunch and 65€ for dinner, for most people. Don’t miss this fine restaurant while you have the chance enjoy its excellent menu at its current reasonable price since there are words that it will soon receive its first Michelin star. By then, you will feel glad that you have experienced what a Michelin-star menu at a very affordable price.
